F. H. Morgan Drugstore, cicrca 1928. Today 112 West Broadway, Council Bluffs, Iowa
Barley's is poised to become as much a part of Council Bluffs history as the 100 Block itself. We are proud to be a significant part of the revitalization of the most important and historic district in the city.
We have already told you about us. Here's a little about the history of the 100 Block, where Barley's has called home for nearly 20 years.
Most of the 100 Block's buildings date to the period between 1860 and 1900, when the city was made up of railroad depots and people rode horses down broadway. As Omaha magazine noted in 2014:
"Magnificently restored examples of Italianate, Romanesque Revival, Neoclassical and Mission styles of architecture line the street that in pioneer days boasted such wild west enterprises as a land office, saddle maker, general store and saloon."
Barley's interior and exterior reflects our commitment to preserving that special history as well as our focus on the future. We will always be a part of this community, working to keep it a special place both locals and vistors are proud of, now and in the years to come.
The staff at Barley's works everyday to help keep the 100 Block a thriving and safe place people want to visit.
Amazing food choices and an impressive tap list, all within the inviting 100 Block to dine, shop and bar hop. Who's in?
